John Kinder

Co - Founder

John Kinder founded and manages Rivertrade Limited which invests in a range of companies. He is a board member of many of these including Sugaronline, an independent online information site for the sugar industry and Agrinergy Limited which is a leading provider of services to the emerging carbon credit market particularly in Asia enabling companies to create and monetize carbon assets.

 

A graduate of Cambridge University Mr. Kinder was a director from 1987 to 1999 of the Man Group plc, and managing director of its sugar division. Until 2004, he was a non-executive director of Greencore plc, a company listed in London and Dublin that owned Irish Sugar and specializes in convenience foods and food ingredients.

 

Mr. Kinder and Rivertrade are actively involved in two charities; the Eric Evans Trust, which promotes sport and activities for all, in particular the underprivileged.  Secondly, Tennis For Free, which campaigns to make publicly managed tennis courts available for use by all for free. Since 2005, Tennis For Free has attracted more than 60,000 attendances on the free coaching programs helping to ‘free up’ more than 2,500 park courts allowing people to enjoy a game of tennis at no cost. Mr. Kinder makes many charitable donations to London theaters including the Donmar Warehouse and the Young Vic and is a member of the development committee of the Almeida Theatre. Mr. Kinder received a MA in History from Cambridge University in 1978.
