Duncan Riefler is a Senior Managing Director at Revere. He has more than 35 years’ experience and a broad variety of global relationships within the credit markets and the private investment world. Most recently, Mr. Riefler has been in an advisory and capital placement role through his own company, European & American Capital Advisors LLC (regulated by Independent Investment Bankers). These activities have included advising credit managers and advising and investing in small companies with business model transitions in the consumer space as well as in evolving agtech and ESG areas. His activities have led to the development of relationships with many institutions and in the evolving family office investor base. Prior to his recent activities, Mr. Riefler spent 18 years in the United Kingdom initially with Merrill Lynch, where he was a pioneer in the formative stages of the European below investment grade credit markets as the head of European Leveraged Finance Sales for Merrill. The global financial crisis provided the opportunity to co-found London-based Sonas Partners LLP in 2009. Sonas was a successful specialist in trading distressed debt and reorganized equity. Mr. Riefler was responsible for the sale of Sonas to Lazard Capital Markets and then ultimately to Guggenheim Partners, where he was CEO and Senior Managing Director of Guggenheim Securities International. 

 

Prior to his career in London, Mr. Riefler worked in New York completing the credit training program at Manufacturers Hanover (predecessor to JP Morgan Chase) before joining Discount Corp. of NY and then Merrill Lynch with whom he moved to London in 1998. Duncan is a dual US/UK citizen. He is the former Honorary Secretary of the Senior Lawn Tennis Club of Great Britain. He is an instrument-rated Private Pilot and recently authored an article featured in American Bonanza Society Magazine. Mr. Riefler received his BA from Denison University.
